The 900sqm LED ceiling at Manchester’s PrintWorks entertainment complex is part of a project in which ADI.tv will provide displays, content and control.

ADI.tv has won the contract to design, manufacture and install Europe’s largest LED ceiling at Manchester’s Printworks entertainment complex.

Part of a £16million refurbishment taking place at the complex throughout 2022, the 900 sqm LED ceiling will deliver immersive experiences that harness mixed-reality applications, show-stopping creativity and live gamification.

In addition to the 900sqm LED ceiling, the project includes:

The installation will include ADI’s proprietary MT LED technology – a next generation lightweight and slimline product designed specifically with architectural and façade usage in mind. The ceiling screen will utilise a brand-new fire-rated version of the screen; believed to be the world’s only LED panel to meet the stringent new European Standard BSEN 13501-1 certification.

Drew Burrow, head of sales (bespoke and creative) at adi.tv, commented: “This ambitious digital venue transformation has three main elements to consider – displays, content and control – and each presents its own challenges.  The value that ADI add is our ability to help the customer consider all of these elements in the round; initially in a consultancy capacity, then to deliver the solutions, and finally to create and manage creative content.

“There are other companies they could go to, to provide and install LED displays; there are other companies that offer control and content management systems; there are other companies that can create content. But I don’t think any would be able to advise on and facilitate every element of this project in the way that ADI have.”
