2022 appears to become a good year for OLED enthusiasts who have been eagerly waiting for the new TV lineup of the market-leading South Korean manufacturer LG. In the past few years, LG's very popular OLED TVs already sported a gorgeous picture quality and great contrast ratios, but even higher-end sets like the LG G1 only had a decent HDR peak brightness in comparison to traditional TVs with an LED backlight. With the introduction of the new LG G2, this is no longer seems to be the case.

According to a detailed video review by Rtings, which is also available in written form, the LG G2 OLED TV can display HDR details at an impressive peak brightness of up to 1,165 nits, which is a noticeable improvement over the immediate predecessor that barely managed to exceed 700 nits in real HDR scenes. Unfortunately, the high-end television set continues to struggle in large and bright HDR scenes, which is where the LG G2 still has to lower its brightness to 300 nits and less.

On the positive side, the LG G2 OLED TV has great viewing angles and handles reflections exceptionally well. Gamers will also enjoy the very low input lag of approximately 13 ms at 4K60, and all important HDMI 2.1 gaming features like VRR are also supported by this television set. If you want to give the LG G2 a shot, the 55-inch variant of the OLED TV can be found on Amazon for US$2,098. Please note that this TV does not ship with a stand because it designed to be mounted on a wall.
