One Marvel's Spider-Man player has recreated the iconic Doc Ock poster from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, using the game's suits and some clever editing.
A Marvel's Spider-Man player has recreated a poster for the 2004 Spider-Man 2 movie. Marketing for the popular superhero sequel is highly recognizable, with its warm orange tones standing out when compared to other superhero movie posters of the time. The Sam Raimi-led sequel had a number of iconic posters, as did its predecessor, but one in particular stands out as the most recognizable.
One particular poster, which showed the movie's villain, Doctor Octopus, reflected in Spider-Man's lenses was also used as the cover art for the popular movie tie-in game for Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Much like its movie counterpart, the Spider-Man 2 game was highly praised at the time, with one high point being the title's web-swinging system. Spider-Man 2 redefined Spider-Man's trademark traversal mechanics in games by implementing a physics-based system where webs attached to the environment for the first time, rather than the cloud swinging seen in Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro on the original PlayStation, or the previous movie tie-in for Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man film.

Reddit user ItIs_SPID is currently recreating posters based on the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, and has shared a video of the recreation process on their YouTube channel. To create the poster, ItIsSpid had to acquire assets from Marvel's Spider-Man using the game's photo mode, which was enhanced with the game's PlayStation 5 remaster to coincide with the release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. ItIsSpid then compiled these assets together to recreate the iconic poster with Insomniac's take on Doc Ock reflected in the Raimi-inspired Webbed suit's lenses. ItIsSpid then took to Reddit to share their finished result, which many fellow Spider-Man fans agreed looked almost identical to the 2004 original.
This isn't the first time ItIsSpid has utilized Marvel's Spider-Man's photo mode to recreate iconic moments from the Spider-Man movies. Recently, they used the variety of movie-inspired suits in Insomniac's game to recreate a moment from Spider-Man: No Way Home's epic finale, where Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland's Spider-Men teamed up atop the Statue of Liberty. Their content isn't entirely related to the movies, however, as recently ItIsSpid used assets from Marvel's Spider-Man and the image of Venom in the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 trailer to create a concept for the sequel's cover art, which sees Insomniac's Advanced suit being taken over by the symbiote, tying into rumors that Venom's role in the sequel could see symbiote-inspired Spider-Man costumes.
ItIsSpid's content has pleased fans of the wall-crawler, whilst showcasing the potential of Marvel's Spider-Man's photo mode. With the impending release of Marvel's Spider-Man on PC, and the modding community already talking about plans to add highly demanded costumes such as the symbiote suit or Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man 2 costume, it will be interesting to see what ItIsSpid creates next.
